Milwaukee Motorized Torque Wrench Product Review

Expanding on trade-focused solutions, Milwaukee Tools unveiled the industry’s first motorized torque wrench. The Milwaukee Motorized Torque Wrench delivers increased productivity, precise torque accuracy, and advanced reporting functionality.

Milwaukee Motorized Torque Wrench Features

POWERSTATE brushless motors allow the torque wrenches to deliver up to 50% faster installation time, replacing hand tools and the traditional two-tool installation process. The M12 3/8″ and 1/2″ digital torque wrenches have precise torque accuracy of up to 2% CW and 3% CCW of full scale for torque-critical fasteners, decreasing the chance of over-torquing. Because the wrenches are easy to operate, users will experience less repetitive motions, preventing injuries.

Milwaukee Motorized Torque Wrench

“Electricians are responsible for installing conductors and making connections according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Unfortunately, it is commonplace for many electricians to tighten connections in one of two ways: (1) Using an impact and then a torque wrench or (2) Manually ratcheting a torque wrench to get to the target value. These processes aren’t only time-consuming and can lead to overly tightened connections or repetitive motion injuries over time for users.” “The M12 FUEL™* Digital Torque Wrench w/ One-Key™ increases productivity during the overall torquing process by delivering faster, more accurate connections and a reporting experience all performed on the tool.”

-Eric Rusch, Group Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool

The Torque Process

Step 1:Set the torque by application.
Step 2:

Pull the trigger to max RPM.

*Tool will automatically stop before targeted torque, prevent over-torquing*.
Step 3:

Finish by hand to reach the target torque.

The wrench will notify the user that the torque was applied. Notifications come in the form of sound, vibration, LED lights, and on-screen notifications.
Step 4:

Press “save” to record the final torque event.

Reporting with One-Key Technology

“To prove proper connections by the NEC, recording of the final torque event is critical. Traditionally, this has been done manually via paper or a time-consuming process. Additionally, some electricians are often forced to wait for an inspector before making connections to ensure accurate torque is applied to each fastener, potentially delaying the installation by days or weeks. Compatible with One-Key™, this tool provides simple one-button recording functionality to save the data and then the ability to customize a report of this data to verify inspectors or engineers – ultimately removing the need to record the torque value for each fastener manually.”

Rusch

One-Key

One-Key technology allows users to connect a tool to their smartphone wirelessly. Additionally, the connection enables users to customize tool settings, track the tool’s location, manage equipment inventory, and lock out the tool for added security.

Reporting

With the compatibility with One-Key technology, generating torque data and customizable reports for inspectors and owners has never been more accessible. The torque reports can be easily customized and organized for your job at hand. Users can save up to 28,500 torque events on the tool and unlimited events on the one-key app.
