In August 2022, Milwaukee Tool opened a new manufacturing plant in West Bend, Wisconsin. The company invested $55 million to build and equip the plant with advanced equipment and technology. It is the first development in West Bend’s new industrial park, West Bend Manufacturing Center.
“We are proud to welcome Milwaukee Tool to the city of West Bend,” said City Administrator Jay Shambeau. “Milwaukee Tool’s investment brings high-value employment opportunities, and we look forward to its further expansion in West Bend.” Milwaukee’s West Bend plant created around 150 US-based jobs for the area, with roles ranging from service technicians, engineers, material handlers, quality technicians, and operators.
“This state-of-the-art facility, and the people who work here, will play a critical role in delivering the next wave of hand tool innovation to the industry,” said Tim Albrecht, President of Hand Tools, Storage and PPE for Milwaukee Tool. “Wisconsin has been our company’s home for nearly 100 years – we’re thrilled to continue our growth here, where we’ve been able to recruit some of the best talent in the country.”
The new 95,000-square-foot facility is just a 20-minute drive from Milwaukee’s headquarters in Brookfield. The plant aids in the manufacturing of innovative hand tools for several trades, such as electrical, power utility, plumbing, and mechanical. Pliers and screwdrivers are the first tools to be made at the facility.
“Milwaukee Tool is an iconic global brand that, by its name alone, makes our state synonymous with quality manufacturing,” said Missy Huges, Secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Milwaukee Tool, founded in 1924, is a global leader in innovative solutions for the professional construction trades that increase productivity and safety.
