The Bev by Black+Decker boasts an easy-load liquor system. The beverage dispenser can hold five 750ml bottles directly in the machine. Upright bottle placement allows you to display your choice brand of vodka, whiskey, gin, rum, and tequila. Once you’ve unboxed your cocktail maker, you’re ready to set it up.

First, slide the straw into the bottle until it touches the bottom and slide the bottle stopper down until it fits entirely in the top of the bottle. Next, you’ll want to make sure the straw lock is up, place the straw in the slot, and press the lock lever down. Do this for all five alcohol bottles and the included water bottle. Lastly, you’ll want to power up your machine by plugging it in and pressing the power button. The lights will blink and then turn solid once your device is ready.

Bottles must be placed in their designated spot for dispensing the correct drink. The names of the five spirits are located in each spot, indicating where the bottle should be placed. The barcode scanner inside the capsule holder scans the top of the pod and allows the cocktail maker to pull from the correct bottle. 

Depending on your drink choice, you’ll want to choose between a glass or shaker to have the drink dispensed into. If a shaker is recommended, the LED shaker light will illuminate. 

When selecting your drink strength, there are four options: mocktail, light, regular, and strong. Mocktail means there is no alcohol in the drink. Light is .5oz, regular is 1.5oz, and strong is 2.5oz.

A martini glass

Cocktail shaker

Rimming sugar

Lemon, orange, or lime wedge

Directions

1. Run the citrus wedge around the edge of the glass. 
2. Turn the outer edge of the glass into the rimming sugar until the entire rim is coated.
3. Place the ice-filled cocktail shaker on the drip tray
4. Insert the Cosmopolitan capsule and use as directed. 
5. Shake for a few seconds then pour into your martini glass
6. Garnish with the citrus of your choice

What you’ll need:

Bartesian Mai Tai capsule

A lowball glass

Cocktail shaker

2 oz Pineapple juice

2 oz Orange juice

Cherry grenadine

Cherry

Umbrella

Directions:

1. Pour the orange juice, pineapple juice, and a splash of cherry grenadine into your cocktail shaker.
2. Place the cocktail shaker, with the previously poured ingredients, on the drip tray.
3. Insert the Mai Tai Bartesian capsule and use as directed. 
4. Shake for a few seconds, then pour into a lowball glass filled with ice. 
5. Garnish with a cherry and umbrella

What you’ll need:

Margarita Bartesian capsule

Jalapeno coins with seeds removed

.5oz agave syrup

Rimming salt

Lime wedge

Cocktail shaker

Margarita glass

Directions

1. Run the lime wedge along the edge of the glass.
2. Pour the rimming salt into a dish larger than the mouth of your glass. Turn the outer edge of the glass around the rim until it’s fully coated. Set the glass aside.
3. Add the agave syrup and 2 of the jalapeno coins to the cocktail shaker.
4. Place the cocktail shaker on the drip tray.
5. Insert the margarita cocktail capsule and use as directed.
6. Shake vigorously and pour into your ice-filled margarita glass.
7. Garnish with a jalapeno coin.

What are the dimensions of the Bev by Black+Decker?

Can I put sparkling water in the bottle?

Black+Decker recommends only using still water in the water bottle.

What happens when a bottle runs out?

If a bottle runs out while the cocktail maker is mixing a drink:

1. The Bev will enter ‘pause mode’ for 2 minutes to allow you to replace the bottle.
2. Do not power off if this happens, it will reset the machine and the current pod will no longer be useable. 

What size drinks does the Bev make?
