Makita GWT10 40V MAX XGT 1″ Impact Wrench

New impact wrench delivers high torque variable speeds and ideal balance for a wide range of applications

February 05, 2025, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools,
power equipment, and accessories, has released the 40V max XGT® 4-Sp. High-Torque 1″ Sq. Drive DHandle Extended Anvil Impact Wrench (GWT10), which can deliver the power of pneumatic impact wrenches for larger diameter bolts.
“The new XGT high-torque 1-inch impact wrench is a monster and a true testament to what XGT®
technology can deliver,” said Robert Monroe, product manager of drilling, fastening, and expansion, at Makita
U.S.A., Inc. “Target users for this high-torque impact wrench include heavy equipment maintenance and
over-the-road truck service, which typically requires a compressor running on the back of the truck to get
the power needed for wheel removal, bucket attachment, and more.

The new GWT10 outperforms pneumatic counterparts with an incredible 2,950 foot-pounds of nut-busting torque, so users who require the highest torque can finally go compressor-free.” Additional users for this high-torque impact wrench include the oil and gas industry for rig anchoring and pressurized connects, pipe fitters, and automotive mechanics, as well as rail maintenance and repair and structural steel assembly.

Powerful Motor, High Torque Output

The D-Handle Extended Anvil Impact Wrench features a Makita-built motor that delivers 2,950 ft.lbs. of
Nut-busting torque and 2,320 ft.lbs. of Fastening Torque, and it can outpower similar models in heavy
load applications. It features up to 47% more nut-busting torque than leading competitor battery-powered
impact wrench.

Power Selection, Variable Speed Trigger

The GWT10 features 3 forward and 3 reverse Auto-Stop modes for increased efficiency. It also features a
4-speed power selection switch (0-600 / 0-700 / 0-850 / 0-1,200 RPM & 0-1,200 / 0-1,300 / 0-1,500 / 0-
1,750 IPM) for a wide range of applications. It has an ultra-smooth variable speed trigger that provides
optimum control. It features a full-speed mode function that reduces the trigger pull to reach full speed.

Reach Deep Fasteners

The D-Handle Extended Anvil Impact Wrench is 22-1/2″ long, making it more compact and ideal for
balanced handling at max torque. The 6″ Extended Anvil gives the users the ability to reach deep well
fasteners. It features a rubber joint for battery installation which provides anti-vibration protection by
separating the battery from the tool impacts.

Convenience Features

Convenience features include an L.E.D. light ring that provides superior 360° illumination to help eliminate
shadows and illuminate a larger area. The 360° D-Handle is engineered with toolless installation, allowing
for the side handle to be positioned quickly and easily for any job. There is also a tethering ring included
for strap support and for hanging the tool on equipment. It also features a reinforced gear housing that is
engineered for maximum job site durability.

XGT®: One System of Cordless Equipment and Tools

The new Impact Wrench is part of Makita XGT®, an expanding system of 40V max and 80V max cordless
equipment and tools. XGT® gives users one system, from core handheld tools like drills and impact
drivers to equipment-grade products, including high-capacity saws, rotary hammers, and power cutters –
all powered by 40V max XGT® batteries. The expanding XGT® System will offer 125+ products in 2025.
