The Forney Easy Weld 140 MP Multi-Process Welder
Since the Forney Easy Weld 140 MP is a multi-process welder, there are several accessories and consumables you can purchase.
This machine works great with common electrodes such as E6011 rod, E7018 rod, E6013, and our go to rod, E7014. E7014 rods are easy to use and perfect for beginners.
We generally suggest .030” flux core wire for this unit. However, if you’re working with sheet metal, .023” or even .024” are great options as well. We do not recommend running .035” wire with this machine, it simply doesn’t have enough amperage for that type of wire.

For this Forney Easy Weld 140 FC-i, we recommend .030” flux-core wire. Flux-core wire is self-shielded, so you won’t need gas to run this machine! With .030” wire, you can weld very thin sheet metal, all the way up to a quarter inch.

A clean shield cup is necessary to maximize the potential of the Forney Easy Weld 20 P plasma cutter. Plasma tips are also very important. These can last for a while, however, if you’re having a hard time cutting through materials, or your plasma arc isn’t focused, you might need to replace your tip!

The Forney Easy Weld 180 ST Stick/TIG Welder
This Forney Easy Weld 180 ST Stick and TIG capable welder works great with stick electrodes up to 5/32” diameter.
For stick welding, we recommend an E7014 rod. This is the perfect rod for beginner welders because it is a medium penetrating rod. If you’re just starting out in the trade, this electrode will save you time and frustration. E7018 with 3/32” diameter is also acceptable for this unit!
The Forney Easy Weld 180 ST also features dual voltage capabilities, and with 220 amps you can use bigger electrodes.
