Since the Forney Easy Weld 140 MP is a multi-process welder, you can purchase several accessories and consumables. This machine works great with common electrodes such as the E6011 rod, E7018 rod, E6013 rod, and our go-to rod, E7014 rod. E7014 rods are easy to use and perfect for beginners.
We generally suggest .030” flux core wire for this unit. However, if you’re working with sheet metal, .023” or even .024” are great options as well. We do not recommend running .035” wire with this machine; it simply doesn’t have enough amperage for that type of wire.

This Forney Easy Weld 180 ST Stick and TIG capable welder works great with stick electrodes up to 5/32” diameter.
For stick welding, we recommend an E7014 rod. This is the perfect rod for beginner welders because it is a medium penetrating rod. This electrode will save you time and frustration if you’re just starting the trade. E7018 with a 3/32” diameter is also acceptable for this unit!
The Forney Easy Weld 180 ST also features dual voltage capabilities, and with 220 amps, you can use more significant electrodes.
