DeWalt Tools are Made in the USA

How Many DeWalt Products Are Made in the USA?

At the time of writing this blog post DeWalt is making 32 different hand tools, 48 power tools, and 562 types of accessories in the United States with domestic and global materials.  The most popular power tool made in the USA is the 20V MAX Lithium Ion Compact Drill Driver Kit, DCD780C2, along with so many more powerful tools.

What Does “Global Materials” Mean and Where Are They Coming From?

Global Materials are parts/assemblies that are manufactured in one location then shipped to facilities around the world for final assembly.  DeWalt is a global manufacturer of power tools, hand tools, and accessories. They manufacture their tools in the following countries: United States, Mexico, Brazil, China, Italy, United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic. By having manufacturing facilities in these countries they feel they are able to best serve all of their customers.

How Do You Choose Which Products To Be Made In A Certain Country?

The decision to make a tool in a specific country is very difficult but DeWalt is taking into consideration where the demand for that tool is the highest.  For example, cordless products represent a large growth opportunity for professional contractors in the United States.  By manufacturing those types of tools in the United States they are able to provide a faster response to their customers needs.

Where Are The DeWalt Manufacturing Facilities In The United States?

DeWalt currently has manufacturing plants in Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Connecticut.

Does Making Products In the United States Change the Price For the Tool?

No! DeWalt continues to manufacturer quality tools at the same end price for professionals, regardless of the manufacturing location.

Hello, Thank you for your comment. The most current information we have from DeWalt is that the DCCS670X1 Chainsaw will be released in early April 2017. We will be putting the unit onto our website shortly for Pre-Order as well.

it would be nice to know the country of manf for ALL the parts. final assembly can mean taking a unit out of a bulk package from communist china and placing into the retail box, or just applying a price tag.
it should be a law (and yes i hate all the control laws on the books now) where it is stated what parts came from where. and how much assembly was done here in the U,S,A.
we as a country must protect jobs here. if not then a war. even a cold one, can shut down vital supply”s.
yes i bitch. but as just me. (not a contractor or anything) i own a number of dewalt corded and un- corded power tools. hell just dropped another 2 bills on one today. guess i can be called a big yellow fan boy.

Hi Dewalt…. have been very happy with the quality of your tools thus far. One thing that has changed is I will not buy anything coming from China. So please be aware of this new view I have of the world. I love tools.

not true, many of Dewalt tools are made in China. I just recently bought a Dewalt 60v cordless stringer from Home Depot. I did not look at the box closely and took it home. As I was putting it together, I saw on the box…”made in China!” I was so disappointed! A week ago at Costco, there’s a Dewalt shopvac on display, “made in China!”
    True story…

Hi Boyd, Thank you for your comment. You are correct that not all DEWALT tools are being made in the United States, but it is nice to know that they are making an active shift to build more tools and accessories here.

I am looking for American made tools. I purchased a crosscut handsaw , Stanley. The package said “made in USA”. Got it home opened the package and attempted to saw a 1×4. Could not make it saw straight. Looked at the teeth. they were only set to one side with no set on the other side. A closer look at the saw revealed the problem. Stamped into the blade,”Made in China”. ????? Now looking for cordless tools . Are there ANY made in USA?

Hi Michael, The best way to find a DEWALT Service Center or Authorized Service Center is to log onto the DEWALT website and click Service on the right side of their main header row. That will open a window where you can choose Find a Service Center. Continue to follow their directions for locating your nearest Factory Owned or Local Authorized service center.

Add another customer to the long list that will not buy *anything* that any company makes if they do business with China in any capacity. It makes no difference to me if they sell the cheap chinesium tools in the US or globally. I will not support any business that supports the CCP.
And, yes, I will be doing my homework on the subject and sharing that information globally.

James and the rest of people searching on Acme. Acme is falsifying information on their product pages labeling DeWalt tools made in USA and shipping products that are Made in China. I reached out to Acme directly prior to buying the DWE 575 circular saw which Acme states is made in USA. Acme confirmed the information was correct with DeWalt (at least that’s what they told me they did), but Acme sent me a saw made in China. I even reached out to Acme to verify the saw was actually made in USA before purchasing. I then sent Acme pictures of the box and saw they sent me that clearly states “tool and accessories made in China.” Acme then tried to dispute the picture I sent and told me the tool is still made in USA despite the fact I showed them evidence otherwise. Finally, they told me that I appear to be correct and the tool is made in China. Their website literally lists made in USA with Global materials twice under the product features. I will be making this known to anyone searching out tools from Acme. They are misrepresenting product information and falsifying facts. Very misleading, so do not trust anything Acme tells you. They mislead me and then told me they had to confirm with the manufacturer (again). Buyer beware. Here is the link to the product page. This saw is not made in USA, but Acme claims it is being made in USA. I assume they will scramble to take this information off their page.

Hi Nick, Thank you for notifying us of the incorrect information on our website and we are sorry that our support department did not give you the correct information. We do appreciate you giving us the images showing the correct country of origin for the DWE575 and you are correct that we scrambled to take the information off of our page, it was not correct. We have corrected the information surrounding the country of origin for the DWE575 in the back end of the website and as of 9/9/2020 12:10pm CST we are in the process of getting the front end of website changed. If at any time you come across incorrect information on our website we do want to hear about it. We pride ourselves in having correct information but errors do happen. What is unacceptable is when we are notified and nothing happens.

You all need to stop crap from popping up on your web page when I’m trying to look up tools. It’s extremely irritating. I know it’s the fashion these days for everyone to do this, but think of the visitor and what they are likely to experience with these constant distractions!

DON’T, know what everyone is crying about, I have DEWALT and multiple other tools made in China, and have had no more failure rate than the rest of the brands I have!! And I have about $30K worth of hand type tools alone, not including big heavy equipment! AND NO, I’m not Chinese as some of you are already thinking, but of Norwegian/German decent!! And I’m a native born AMERICAN citizen, not some transplant!! TW

It’s not about “crying,” it’s about not supporting a country (China) that has some of the worst human rights violations in the world. Thanks to their Totalitarianism style of Government they lie to, and spy on, and imprison anyone that opposes them. They’re goal is to become a military force in the world, which is not good by any stretch of the imagination, and by purchasing anything made there, whether it’s junk or not, is helping them to achieve this goal.

Yes I agree 100% Robert. I would rather pay more for a tool made else where than China. With Dewalt you don’t get a longer warranty like you would with Milwaukee but I’m supporting a USA owned company and gettools made in USA or Mexico instead of China

It’s pretty deceptive to label a product as made in the USA when ALL the parts and even some assemblies are made elsewhere. The fact is most DeWalt tools are 100% made overseas. It’s especially bad since DeWalt yours this propaganda as a selling point, come on be honest!!

Thats what I’m afraid of. I don’t mind paying more for a tool if it’s actually made in the USA but if Dewalt is skipping on labor anyways and charging the same price I might as well go with Milwaukee where I get a 5 year warranty. Are you a Milwaukee or a Dewalt guy? I’m just starting out and I want to go with the best brand so I’m seeing what brand offers more

I have not been able to find a single power tool made by Dewalt that says it was made in the USA. From what I can tell, all 7 of the big brands have all their power tools made in China and then they make some of their other tools in the USA. Milwaukee does the same and makes even more tools in the USA than Dewalt does.

It’s hard to find anything made or worked on in the USA anymore. If you need any web work done by a fully-staffed US web development team, check out Chronic Built. They are the only online development host that has all American workers, based in the USA and all their servers are based in the USA.

      Anthony…

      That’s not true.

Milwaukee according to their representative makes two power tools in the USA. Corded Sawzall and magnetic drill press.

But…wait….Milwaukee doesn’t make all corded sawzalls here. Just a couple.

The only tool company making cordless tools in the United States is DeWalt.

They don’t make them all here but they’re trying and do make several.

I own every single USA made cordless from DeWalt.

Milwaukee makes some consumables here and that’s it.

DeWalt makes consumables here too but they also do power tools here.

Chines made tools you can keep I just ordered a tool will cancel now. If you stay made in America and made in china then it’s false advertisement. They are aligning them self to dominate the free world. Greed sent american jobs over to them to an enslaved work force. The media and our government plays us against one another.

DeWalt is NOT MADE IN THE USA. If they’re going to make that statement it should include ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES TOO! look it up!
“DeWalt is a global manufacturer of power tools, hand tools, and accessories. They manufacture their tools in the following countries: United States, Mexico, Brazil, China, Italy, United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic.” Leaving the other countries out is LIEING!

Hello, Thank you for your comment. We do agree with you that not ALL DEWALT tools are made in the United States, we even called out the fact and listed all of the other countries in our post, no lying here. The point of this post was to let people know that they are producing more and more US-made items and how they determine if an item is made in the US or if they make it in one of their other worldwide factories that can better serve global demands for the specific item.
      Thank you, Acme Tools

I’ve purchase 2 DEWALT DCS571B ATOMIC 20V and both had the same issue. They run for a few seconds and shut off. The batteries are new so the actual tools are defective. I’m so disappointed with Dewalt!
