In October 2022, DEWALT released two new variable speed grinders to their growing selection of power tools. The new line of 4.5/5-inch Variable Speed Grinders has both paddle switch(DCG416VSB) and slide switch (DCG409VSB) configurations. These are DEWALT’s first 20V Variable Speed Cordless Grinders and DEWALT’s first cordless offerings to include Wireless Tool Control™(WTC). Both variations of grinders can be paired with the FLEXVOLT 60V MAX* Cordless Dust Extractor(DCV585B).

Features
Both 20V MAX* Variable Speed Grinders use FLEXVOLT ADVANTAGE technology, which uses FLEXVOLT batteries that deliver more power than the standard 20V batteries. Each model features a variable speed dial which allows for wheel speed adjustment from 3000 to 9000 RPM. DEWALT prioritizes safety by adding a kickback brake feature that quickly stops the wheel and shuts the grinder off when a pinch, stall, or bind-up occurs to reduce the risk of damage or injury by activating the E-Clutch® System. This system activates in less than one-tenth of a second when a pinch or stall is detected. DEWALT also added Tool Connect™ technology for Bluetooth inventory management via the Tool Connect™ Site Manager app.
