Metabo unveiled two new cordless metalworking tools just in time for the holidays. The Metabo cordless nibbler and cordless shear feature their second generation brushless motor. The new motor allows quick and more efficient cuts on curved and straight surfaces. Metabo’s latest tools are the fastest cutting among their competition with the best size to power ratio and slimmest grip.
Metabo Cordless Nibbler
The Metabo NIV 18 LTX BL 1.6, 18V cordless nibbler’s brushless motor provides up to 600-2,360 strokes per minute. The strokes per minute is adjusted using its speed selector. It can cut through 16-gauge mild steel, 18-gauge stainless steel, and 14-gauge aluminum. The tool cuts with a minimum curve radius of 5/8 inches. The nibbler punches small half-moon crescent-shaped pieces in metal without producing any dust or sparks. The tool’s locking switch, quick tool-less change system, and rubber-covered grip reduce downtime and boost user comfort while working on long cuts.
The nibbler is available either as a bare tool (60164850) or in a kit with two 4.0 LiHD batteries, a charge, and a case (US601614400). A punch, die, and combination key comes included with the tool.
Metabo Cordless Shear
The Metabo SCV 18 LTX BL 1.6, 18V shear, delivers up to 1,300-4,840 strokes per minute. The shear can handle 14-gauge aluminum or non-ferrous metals, 16-gauge carbon steel, and 18-gauge alloy/stainless steel, with a minimum curve radius of 1-9/16 inches.
The SCV includes a guard for hand protection and a rubber-covered grip to create maximum comfort, control, and safety. It also features a speed selector for adjusting the cutting speed depending on the material, along with a locking switch. Two blades, two hexagon wrenches, and a feller gauge come included with the tool.
The shear is sold either as a bare tool (601615850) or as a kit, which includes two 4.0 LiHD batteries, a charger, and a case (US601645400).
